'Avengers: Infinity War' release date, spoilers news: Movie may have already started filming in Atlanta

"Avengers: Infinity War" may have finally started filming in Atlanta; that is if the latest tweets from a local photographer are to be believed.

A Twitter user with the handle Atlanta Filming published a series of tweets on Nov. 7 indicating that Marvel's biggest spectacle has already started filming as early as two weeks ago. The Russo brothers film which is supposedly filming back-to-back with the yet to be titled "Avengers 4" will mainly shoot in Atlanta where their studio is located.

"I think I forgot to post this, but [Avengers: Infinity War] started filming two weeks ago," he wrote on his social media, adding, "I took photos of cast members last week. Just really far, sh***y photos."

Since then, the updates have been taken down but not before Cosmic Book News was able to save screenshots of his multiple updates that even detailed some of the cast already being on location. Should this be the case, the film is actually tracking to be on schedule as it was revealed last summer that the Marvel flick will start production in Atlanta by November and will continue until next year.

It was not too long ago when the Russo brothers updated their fans with a location scouting photo of a grand staircase reminiscent of the sets in "Doctor Strange." But interestingly, the photo does not seem to be from Atlanta given that the duo was sporting thick winter jackets.

As for what is in store for the film, it is not a secret that a big part of it will revolve around the mythos of the Infinity Stones. The Avengers, plus some new recruits, will have to face Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin) who wants to amass them all in order to have endless power. This is a mirror to the comic book source material but like all movie adaptations, Marvel Studios took some creative liberties in honing the story courtesy of writing duo Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

"Anything is possible, but knowledge of the comics can be both beneficial to fans anticipating things, and also misleading. So you'll have to see," studio president Kevin Feige teased while talking to Vulture earlier this month.

"Avengers: Infinity War" is set to debut on May 4, 2018, followed by "Avengers 4" on May 3, 2019.
