Will Smith tells 15 million Instagram followers about God while skydiving

Oscar-nominated actor Will Smith has been using social media to motivate and inspire his followers and in a recent post, the "Suicide Squad" actor shared his thoughts about God as he took up skydiving.

In a video post on Instagram, Smith detailed how he was able to conquer his fear while up in the sky at 14,000 feet. He said that amid the danger and as he was "looking down to death," he experienced the most blissful event of his life.

"You realize at the point of maximum danger, is the point of minimum fear," the actor said. "God placed the best things in life on the other side of fear."

Smith went skydiving in Dubai while on holiday with wife Jada Pinkett Smith and their children in March. The star of "Men in Black" went skydiving at least five times before when he previously visited his favorite city. This time, he brought his kids, Trey, Willow and Jaden, to the air with him.

In 2015, Smith spoke to The Christian Post about his faith while promoting the movie "Concussion," which featured the life of Christian Nigerian forensic expert Dr. Bennet Omalu. He and the real-life subject of the movie got along so well because of their shared belief in God.

Smith, who was raised in a Baptist household and went to a Catholic school as a child, also revealed that it was his grandmother, whom he fondly called Gigi, who molded his love for God. The actor regarded her as his spiritual teacher and has previously honored her on social media.

"She was the most spiritually certain person that I had ever met in my entire life," Smith said about Gigi. "Even to the point that when she was dying she was happy, like she was really excited about going to heaven."

Happy Sunday, Y'all. That's Me & My Grandmother. She taught me The TRUTH!
