People are eagerly awaiting the arrival of smartphones that will finally be featuring the Windows 10 operating system (OS), and it looks like a few are already on their way.

Microsoft is, of course, the first in line to release their own set of Windows 10 smartphones, and for now, there are three units set to arrive soon.

The three units include the two flagship devices, which are the Lumia 950 and 950XL, and Microsoft will also be releasing a cheaper option known as the Lumia 550, according to Gizbot.

The Lumia units are expected to be released during the first half of next year, but it looks like they will not be the only smartphones running the Windows 10 OS.

Acer is reportedly planning to release their own Windows 10-compatible unit, known as the Acer Jade Primo. The company actually debuted this phone during this year's IFA event held in Berlin last September, but they are expected to officially announce its arrival before the end of 2015. Another unit known as Liquid M330 from Acer is also expected to feature the Windows 10 OS and will most likely be released before the end of the year as well.

Another company expected to come out with its own Windows 10 unit is the former Sony subsidiary, Vaio. The company has already announced that they currently have their own Windows 10 smartphone in development, according to Tech Times, although an official name for it has yet to be announced. Vaio's Windows 10 offering is also expected to arrive in 2016.

Apart from the previously mentioned companies, there are other firms planning to release their own versions of the Windows 10 smartphone.

Companies such as Freetel, NuAns, and Thirdwave have already confirmed their own plans to come out with their own takes on the Windows 10 smartphone. Unfortunately, it appears that the Windows 10 smartphones from these companies may also take some time before they reach the market.
