Vice President Mike Pence says sharing 'the Good News' is important to nation building

Vice President Mike Pence graced a recent pastors conference in Washington DC to talk about the goals and achievements of the Trump administration, during which he also encouraged the Christian leaders to "share the Good News."

Speaking before the Watchman on the Wall conference, Pence emphasized the importance of prayers in nation building.

"The ministries that you lead and the prayers that you pray are the greatest consequence in the life of the nation," Pence said. "Keep preaching the good news. Keep preaching in season and out of season as the Bible says," he further encouraged. "Always be prepared to give a reason for the hope that you have."

Pence then spoke about the executive order President Trump signed to protect religious liberties and efforts to help persecuted Christians and religious minorities overseas though the USAID.

The vice president also talked about the President's move to relocate the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem and commended Trump for being the "most pro-life president in American history."

Pence also managed to crack a joke about his relationship with Trump.

"He's big city, I'm small town. He's very charismatic, interesting, memorable. I'm...me," Pence said. "But we're alike in every way that matters."

Pence concluded his speech by telling the pastors that their help and prayer was needed the most in healing divisions. The Vice President's message earned several standing ovations from the pastors.

Since settling in Washington a year and a half ago, Pence has reportedly made it a point to conduct prayer meetings with the President's cabinet members every week with Pastor Ralph Drollinger of the Capitol Ministries.
