'Tekken 7' news: New exhibition footage shows off Akuma's moves

Akuma is set to be one of the characters making his way to "Tekken 7" in the near future, and now, fans have the chance to take a look at just how skilled of a fighter he can be.

Thanks to a new gameplay video that has emerged from the Japan Amusement Expo (JAEPO) that took place in Tokyo over the weekend, fans are now able to get a better look at Akuma's skillset.

In the video, viewers can see famed fighting game player "Tokido" using Akuma as he squares off against "Nobi," who is using Dragunov.

Over the course of the exhibition matches, viewers can watch as Tokido uses many of Akuma's signature moves in quick succession.

Unfortunately, "Tokido's" mastery of Akuma was not enough to earn him a victory this time around.

After the two engage in a best of five series, it was "Nobi" who eventually emerged as the victor after he won three of the four sets.

Even though Akuma looks good to go in the video, it may still be a while before more Japanese players get to try out the new character.

In a listing spotted on the Japanese arcade game web site AM-Net, it is revealed that the "Fated Retribution" update for "Tekken 7" may not be released until July.

It's also worth noting that "Tekken 7" is currently playable only in Japanese arcades, so even upon the release of the "Fated Retribution" update, many fans of the franchise will still have to wait a bit longer not just to try out Akuma, but also the entire game itself.

As it stands now, "Tekken 7" is currently expected to make its way to both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One sometime in 2016, although at this point, the game's developers have yet to announce a formal release date.
