 Official PlayStation Blog

"Tekken 7" has now been officially confirmed for PlayStation 4.

News of the highly anticipated fighting game finally coming to the current generation console was announced by the game's producer Katsuhiro Harada during Sony's Oct. 27 press conference at Paris Games Week. The gaming event itself will be running all the way through Nov. 1.

Aside from the news that "Tekken 7" will now be coming to PlayStation 4, more details were also announced about the upcoming game.

According to a post about the game on the official PlayStation Blog, "Tekken 7" will mark the first time that the fighting title will be running on Unreal Engine 4, meaning players will be treated to an all-new visual experience whenever they are engaging in action-packed bouts with their friends.

More details about the characters in the game have also been revealed.

A new member of the Mishima family, named Kazumi, will be making her debut in the series in "Tekken 7," and it remains to be seen how she may factor into the storytelling of the game moving forward.

Apart from Kazumi, there will be other new characters introduced in "Tekken 7."

According to the Latino Post, characters such as Claudio, Gigas, Josie, Katarina, Lucky Chloe, and Shaheen are among the other new fighters being introduced to the "Tekken 7" roster, and those additions will help to add possibly new and exciting elements that players may not have been able to experience before.

Plenty of classic "Tekken" characters will also be showing up in the upcoming game.

It was also revealed during Paris Games Week that "Tekken 7" will be providing support for PlayStation VR when it eventually does come out, Polygon reported.

Exactly how the game will work with the PlayStation VR was not revealed, although fans will nonetheless be awaiting more details regarding this added feature for the game.

More characters and gameplay details are also expected to be revealed soon.

"Tekken 7" was released earlier this year for selected arcades in Japan.
