'Tekken 7' release update: Find out more about the game's roster

"Tekken 7" is already one of the more eagerly anticipated titles of the year, and part of that excitement is due to the game's roster.

"Tekken" titles are known for having some of the more unique characters in gaming, and the next installment figures to be no different. Currently, there are 29 characters confirmed for the game, though it's unclear if there are still more names being added to the roster.

The most recent character added to "Tekken 7's" roster is Nina Williams.

Bandai Namco revealed that Nina Williams would be added to the game through a trailer released back in January. Nina is also another one of the characters being added to "Tekken 7" as part of the "Fated Retribution" update. The character is just another one of the familiar faces that long-time fans of the franchise will recognize immediately in "Tekken 7."

Along with Nina, the game's roster also includes returning favorites such as Hwoarang, Jin, Law, and the sword-wielding Yoshimitsu.

While "Tekken 7" has its fair share of fan-favorites, the roster is also not lacking in entirely new names. There are seven entirely new characters who are making their debuts in "Tekken 7." The list of newcomers includes Claudio, Gigas, Josie, Katarina, Kazumi, Lucky Chloe, and Shaheen.

In addition to those newcomers, "Tekken 7" will also feature an entirely new model of Jack, known as Jack-7.

Lastly, "Street Fighter's" Akuma has also been added to "Tekken 7" via the "Fated Retribution" update. Akuma is currently the only guest character included in "Tekken 7," although it's unclear if more will still be added in the future.

As of now, "Tekken 7" is only playable in arcades across Japan, although the fighting game is expected to make its way to both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. "Tekken 7" will likely make its console debut sometime in 2016, according to N4BB, although this has yet to be confirmed.

More news about "Tekken 7" should be made available in the future.
