'Street Fighter V' news: New game to provide Steam OS support

 Capcom Unity (Official website)

"Street Fighter V" will be reaching more players when it is officially released, thanks to a recent announcement.

According to a post on the official Capcom blog, "Street Fighter V" will also be providing support for Steam OS when it is officially released.

Previously, the new fighting game was only slated to be made available to the PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Windows personal computers (PCs), so the new announcement should open up a whole new audience for "Street Fighter V."

Capcom has also announced that they are "working closely with Valve on this endeavor," and that will hopefully translate to a better port and one that is problem-free.

Aside from providing support for the Steam OS, players will also be able to take part in fights using the Steam controller when the game is released.

As Hardcore Gamer points, Capcom has yet to announce if the Steam OS port of "Street Fighter V" will also be released at the same time as its counterparts on the PS4 and the Windows PC, so fans will want to keep an eye out for that bit of information in the coming weeks and months ahead of the game's release date.

In related news, a new trailer for the game is showing off some of the battle costumes that players will be able to use, PlayStation Lifestyle reported.

The trailer showcases the battle costumes of Cammy decked out in blue, Ryu with a full beard, M. Bison with a black ensemble, and Chun-Li with her hair down. The trailer features the four fighters in combat, with each one showcasing their signature moves, although nothing new was actually revealed in the short video.

The good news for fans is that their wait for the eagerly anticipated game is coming to an end fairly soon, with "Street Fighter V" expected to be released on Windows PC and PS4 on Feb. 16, 2016.
