Sony is reportedly set to release the Xperia Z6 by February, at least according to the company's previously established pattern of behavior.

Sony has been known to be one of the more predictable companies at least in terms of its smartphone launch habits. According to Trusted Reviews, the company usually runs through a six-month cycle when it comes to new releases and Sony is expected to follow that same pattern with the Xperia Z6.

If the company does indeed follow their established pattern yet again this year, then that would set the launch date of the Xperia Z6 right around February. Most industry analysts currently expect the company to first show off the phone right around Feb. 21, which would be just a day before next year's Mobile World Congress (MWC) event really starts to get going.

With the new phone apparently on a set deadline, it's no surprise to learn that a variety of rumors have already begun to create an idea of what it will be like upon being officially released.

According to Pocket Lint, the Xperia Z6 will in all likelihood be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset. It's worth noting that Sony has been rumored to start creating their own chipsets to be used for their devices, although it's unclear if that could be carried out in time for the Z6.

The Xperia Z6 is expected to feature 4 GB of RAM. Rumors also suggest that the new phone is likely to feature 16 GB of internal storage, although the Z6 is also widely believed to have microSD support for those who will be looking for memory.

Given the buzz that surrounded the Xperia Z5 Premium when it came out equipped with a 4K display, anticipation is understandably building for what the Z6 will feature. For now, the new phone is not expected to follow suit with a 4K display, and is instead expected to have 2K resolution on hand.

More news about Sony's Xperia Z6 is expected to come out in the next few months.
