Game developer Slightly Mad Studios confessed that they are having problems with the Wii U version of the newly released motorsport racing simulator game "Project CARS," which is why the version's release date has been delayed.
Studio head Ian Bell admitted that they are struggling with the development of "Project CARS" for Wii U. According to Bell, the game is currently "running at about 23FPS" and, at the moment, the British game studio is only able to achieve 720p resolution.
Bell also mentioned that they are hoping that Nintendo will release their NX console at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 next month, where they could release the new console version of "Project CARS" instead. However, Slightly Mad might be disappointed to find out that the Japanese game console manufacturer is not planning to unveil the NX at the E3 event. According to Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, their new home console will not be revealed next month. They will also avoid talking about the details of the alleged console until 2016.
However, Iwata did reveal that the new console will not be released as a replacement for their current line of game consoles.
"Though I cannot confirm when it will be launched or any other details of the system, since I have confirmed that it will be 'a dedicated video game platform with a brand new concept,' it should mean that we do not intend it to become a simple 'replacement' for Nintendo 3DS or Wii U," Nintendo's exec stated early this month.
"Project CARS," short for Community Assisted Racing Simulator, was released on May 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The British developer initially planned to release the racing sim game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but the plan has been scrapped completely.
The game is being distributed worldwide by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
