Pregnant Cardi B decides abortion is not for her and her unborn child

Rapper Cardi B is pregnant with her first child. The music artist, whose actual name is Belcalis Almanzar, revealed in an interview that she did consider getting an abortion but decided she's keeping her baby.

The 25-year-old rapper told the radio show "The Breakfast Club" on Tuesday that she had an unplanned pregnancy with her fiancé Offset. She was, however, firm in her decision not to go through with an abortion and instead embrace motherhood.

"You know what, I'm a grown woman. I'm 25 years old," Cardi B said. "I'm a schmillionaire and I'm prepared for this," she added and explained that she can have a child and a career at the same time.

Cardi B revealed some fans felt sorry for her after she announced her pregnancy and others suggest it wouldn't be possible to continue succeeding in her career if she became a mom.

Despite this, the rapper made the choice to have the child.

Though Cardi B did not mention in the interview if her faith factored into her decision not to have an abortion, it's no secret that the rapper is a Christian devotee. Cardi B doesn't flaunt her love for God all the time but has previously asked people to respect her faith as she respects the faith of other people.

Cardi B's new album "Invasion of Privacy" has finally been released and the first track "Be Careful" debuted at No. 16 on Billboard. The soon-to-be mom is also set to perform at the Coachella festival on Sunday, April 15, and the audience will hear her new songs for the first time.

The rap artist from the Bronx, New York is one of today's fast-rising stars in music and she had no qualms about discussing her previous job as a stripper when she was 18 years old. Cardi B shared that the experience helped her get back into school and brought her closer to God.

"The people that personally know me, they know how I spread the word of God," Cardi B shared with Global Grind TV. "He's the one that forgives me," she added.
