Some fans will be able to play "Pokémon Go" earlier than other eager gamers.
In a recent interview with the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper, Pokémon Company President and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara revealed that the upcoming augmented reality game will be released earlier in some regions.
In the interview, Ishihara revealed that players in Europe, Japan, and North America will be the first ones who will be able to download the new game for their devices.
After the initial rollout in the aforementioned places, the game will then be subsequently launched in other regions including Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa.
Unfortunately, Ishihara did not reveal exactly when the launches will take place, so fans will have to continue waiting for those specific dates.
Still, Ishihara's revelation may be hinting at the launch plans that both Nintendo and Niantic have for the game.
As Gotta Be Mobile pointed out, since Ishihara did not single out any specific countries aside from Japan, such could be an indicator that both Nintendo and Niantic intend to release "Pokémon Go" across all the countries in a specific region at the same time.
Unfortunately, it's still unclear as to how long players will have to continue waiting for the arrival of the augmented reality game.
As can be seen on the game's official website, the only expectation for its launch is that it will be taking place sometime this year, although that has been the case for a while now, and it's unclear exactly when the developers may provide more specific information about its release.
Upon its release, the upcoming game will be made available for both iOS and Android devices, and in-app purchases will also be offered to players, although Nintendo and Niantic have yet to provide more specific information about what these may be.
