The full list of free games coming via the PlayStation Plus service has now been announced.
Leading off the list is a car combat game known as "Hardware: Rivals." "Hardware: Rivals" will allow players to take on their friends across numerous online multiplayer arenas as they battle for vehicular supremacy, according to the official PlayStation blog.
PlayStation 4 (PS4) owners who may not be PlayStation Plus subscribers can still get "Hardware: Rivals" when it is released on Jan. 5, 2016.
Also coming to the PS4 is the adventure epic known as "Grim Fandango Remastered." In this game, players are tasked with finding and then guiding souls to their final resting place, although that description does little to convey how whimsical the experience can actually be.
"Grim Fandango Remastered" will be available for free to both PS4 and PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) owners via the PlayStation Plus service.
Speaking of the PlayStation Vita, gamers who prefer that platform will also be receiving "Nihilumbra." PlayStation Vita owners who are looking for puzzle platforming games will definitely want to give "Nihilumbra" a try.
Also coming to the PlayStation Vita is the turn-based strategy game known as "Legends of War: Patton," according to Polygon.
PS3 owners will also be getting a pair of new games they can try out via the PlayStation Plus service.
First up is BioWare's "Dragon Age: Origins," a role-playing epic that should tide players over for the remaining days of their winter breaks.
Finally, the second game coming to the PS3 and the last free game coming via the PlayStation Plus service this January 2016 is none other than the first person shooter known as "Medal of Honor Warfighter."
The free games are not available just yet. PlayStation owners who spotted a game they like from January's collection of free games coming via the PlayStation Plus service will be able to try them out starting Jan. 5, 2016.
