"One Punch Man" has been a breakout hit since its debut, but unfortunately for fans, it may be a while before the show returns for its sophomore season.

At this point, no release date for "One Punch Man's" second season has actually been confirmed.

Recently, a tweet by "One Punch Man" creator Yusuke Murata indicating that he will be working hard on the season caused a bit of a stir within the anime's fan base.

It's worth noting, though, that Murata did not actually say that the second season of the show would be ready by this year.

Creating a show as detailed as "One Punch Man" is obviously a time-consuming endeavor, one that may even take as long as two years, according to The BitBag.

As much as the show's developers may want to get the second season out early, it may not be possible to do so in such a short amount of time.

According to Design and Trend, it's more realistic to expect the second season of "One Punch Man" to arrive sometime between late 2016 and 2018, since that would give the creators enough time to produce a show that can be as good as the initial offering.

For now, official details about the premiere date of "One Punch Man's" second season are still few and far in between, although more clarity regarding the matter should be made available later on in 2016.

As for what fans can anticipate to see in the sophomore season of the anime, they can reportedly expect the show's titular hero to take on a new villain named Garou.

Garou is the student of S-Class hero Silver Fang, and he is believed to be a highly skilled fighter. Still, the extent of Garou's true power remains unknown, and he may end up posing a somewhat credible threat to Saitama himself.

More details about Garou, Saitama, and the rest of the characters in "One Punch Man" should be released later on in the year.
