'No Man's Sky' release date news: Available for PlayStation VR and Xbox One

"No Man's Sky" could be made available for the PlayStation VR. According to reports, despite the fact that "No Man's Sky" has not been officially announced for PlayStation VR, there are some valid reasons to consider the possibility that it may be made available to the headset soon, perhaps even as a launch title.

One of the reasons reports point to is the notion that the game itself might have been delayed specifically so it could also be launched for PlayStation VR.

As some folks might remember, there was a lot of buzz building around a possible 2015 release date for "No Man's Sky" and footage of the game that was shared also seemed to indicate that it was close enough to completion that its arrival seemed imminent.

Of course, "No Man's Sky" never did launch in 2015; instead, fans were told that the game would be launched in June 2016.

It's worth noting that PlayStation VR is currently scheduled for a spring launch, making the possibility that the two could be released together at least feasible.

Sony has thus far been reluctant to confirm "No Man's Sky" for PlayStation VR, but the event coming to pass at least seems possible for now.

In related news, there's also a possibility that "No Man's Sky" could eventually make its way to the Xbox One.

In an interview with "The Inner Circle" podcast, Xbox director Chris Charla revealed that "he would love to see" the game on the Xbox One.

Charla even said that they would be willing to meet the game's developers halfway in order to make "No Man's Sky" for the Xbox One a reality.

As of now, "No Man's Sky" has only been confirmed for both PlayStation 4 and PC.
