Earlier this year, it was revealed that "No Man's Sky" would be released sometime in June 2016, but now, it appears as though the exact launch date is known.
An Amazon listing that is supposedly for pre-orders of "No Man's Sky" recently appeared on the retail website, and it looks like it may have unintentionally leaked the exact launch date of the game.
If the listing is to be believed, the release date of "No Man's Sky" is on June 30.
Aside from the supposed release date of "No Man's Sky," the listing also includes the price of the game, which is currently at $59.99.
According to Hardcore Gamer, people who have been following the game expected a digital download of it to be made available somewhere around the range of $15 to $30, so the listed price is a bit above what they had expected.
It's worth noting that both Hello Games and Sony have yet to offer any official statements regarding the Amazon listing, leaving people to speculate on whether it is legitimate or not.
In related news, "No Man's Sky" was reportedly set to make its debut much earlier than June of next year, according to the Venture Capital Post.
Apparently, the sci-fi title was originally slated to be released last month, more specifically on Oct. 27, but technical issues made it just about impossible to meet that timeline.
Instead of rushing "No Man's Sky" to meet the October deadline, the game was instead moved all the way back to June of next year to provide Hello Games with enough to complete their creation.
In the past, Hello Games was reluctant to make any announcements regarding a release date for "No Man's Sky," while fans also grew suspicious of the fact that footage of the game was routinely unavailable.
Although it has not been confirmed, the presence of technical issues could explain why it took Hello Games as long as it did to finally settle on an official release date.
