A new expansion, known as "Strongholds," has been officially announced for "Neverwinter."

News of the latest expansion coming to "Neverwinter" came directly from the game's publisher Perfect World.

"Strongholds" will be the seventh official expansion added to the game and it is bringing an array of new features to get players all kinds of excited, according to Gamezone.

Among the new features being added to the game will include the co-op event known as Dragonflight. Also new to the game coming via the "Strongholds" expansion will be guild housing, which should be a welcome addition for many players.

Arguably the most significant addition coming to "Neverwinter" courtesy of the "Strongholds" expansion will be the large-scale player versus player mode known as Strongholds Siege.

Strongholds Siege will likely be familiar to at least a few players as it will involve different characters engaging in combat across three lanes. It will basically play like a typical MOBA, with players teaming up, this time into groups of 20, and sharing the similar goal of destroying their opponents' guild hall.

As an added wrinkle, players can also fortify their own guilds by making their strongholds more impervious to enemy invasions. Players can help improve their chances of winning by constructing a variety of different structures designed to keep their opponents at bay, or even through building other establishments that may aid in resource management or another more specific purpose, according to Gamespot.

Strengthening the guild will also benefit the players themselves as they go into combat.

"Strongholds" was actually released earlier this year for the personal computer (PC) version of "Neverwinter." "Strongholds" was released for the PC back in August.

This time around, "Strongholds" will be coming to the Xbox One version of "Neverwinter," and the good news is that all of its feature will be ready upon its arrival.

"Strongholds" will be released for the Xbox One version of "Neverwinter" on Nov. 3.
