"Mortal Kombat X" players eagerly awaiting the arrival of "Kombat Pack 2" will be glad to know that a gameplay video featuring the new characters will be released this week.

News of the "Kombat Pack 2" gameplay video being released came directly from "Mortal Kombat" creator Ed Boon's Twitter account.

Unfortunately, Boon was not quite as forthcoming with other relevant details as some fans might have liked, as the release date of the video and what it will actually show remains largely known, according to Game Rant.

The one thing fans can bank on is that the new gameplay video will most likely feature the four new characters coming via "Kombat Pack 2."

The four new characters coming via "Kombat Pack 2" include Bo Rai Cho, Leatherface from the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" series, "Alien's" Xenomorph, and a new fighter known as Tri-Borg, who is a combination of Cyrax, Robot Smoke, and Sektor, according to GameSpot.

Similar to the soon to be released gameplay video, "Kombat Pack 2" itself currently has no concrete launch date, although it is expected to be released sometime this year.

In related news, some of the characters who will be included in "Kombat Pack 2" might also show up in a new live action web series.

According to Design and Trend, a new live action series known as "Mortal Kombat: Generations" will reportedly feature some of the characters also included in "Mortal Kombat X."

Rumors have even suggested that some valuable information regarding the backgrounds of certain characters such as Tri-Borg may even be exclusively revealed via the live action series.

"Mortal Kombat: Generations" may even have something to do with "Kombat Pack 2" currently having no release date, as some rumors now suggest that the two might end up being launched right around the same time.

More news about "Kombat Pack 2" and "Mortal Kombat X" is expected to be made available soon.
