Will the MacBook Air 2016 finally be released at next year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC)?

According to Taiwan's Economic Daily News, and as reported on by Apple Insider, Apple is currently working with their suppliers in order to have the new laptop ready by next year's WWDC, which will most likely take place in June.

The MacBook Air 2016 showing up at next year's WWDC would not be all that surprising, considering how important the event is to Apple, and it would seem far enough removed from any other major announcements that it would make for a good enough platform to finally unveil the new laptop.

Still, as long as Apple continues to hold off on announcing an actual release date for the new laptop, people won't know what to expect for sure.

There have also been other rumors suggesting that the MacBook Air 2016 could be released either just a bit before the WWDC or a bit after it ended, although it would seem that it would work better for Apple if they could launch the laptop during some of the most important dates on their company calendar.

It's worth noting that the MacBook Air 2016 had already been rumored for a Black Friday debut just last month, according to the Australian Network News, and that, of course, did not materialize.

Another interesting rumor concerning the new laptop is that its 11-inch version may be discontinued altogether.

Apple dropping the 11-inch MacBook Air would mean that they would be offering multiple laptops that come with 13 and 15-inch variations.

Other rumors concerning the new laptop continue to suggest that it will be featuring Intel's brand of Skylake chips when it is eventually released, as has been suggested in the past.

The MacBook Air 2016 is also expected to be a great deal slimmer and lighter than its predecessor.

More news about the MacBook Air 2016 is expected to be made available soon.
