The American procedural drama-comedy "Lucifer" raised some controversies when it began airing in January this year. Some conservative groups, including the American Family Association, questioned how the series depicted Satan as a human being who is likeable and capable for caring for others.
Nevertheless, the Fox Network series drew millions of viewers, with 3.89 million people tuning in its finale last April. Now, these avid viewers are eager to know when they will get to see Lucifer Morningstar, who came from hell to the Los Angeles Police Department, back to their television screens.
Well, the Den of Geek website provides some answers. According to the site, "Lucifer" Season 2 is expected to come back on September 19<sup>th, Monday, at 9 p.m. The return of the show will follow another Fox Network favorite, "Gotham."
When the show comes back two months from now, do not be surprised if you see new faces. As earlier reported by TV Line, "Lucifer" Season 2 will feature a new character played by Canadian model and actress Tricia Helfer.
Helfer, who earlier appeared in popular television shows like "Battlestar Galactica" and "CSI," was reportedly tapped to play the role of "Mamma D," also known as Charlotte, Lucifer's mother.
The new character may once again attract controversies. Lucifer's mom will reportedly be portrayed as God's ex-wife who was trapped in hell for thousands of years. She will supposedly reunite with her son on Earth.
This new character, Charlotte, "is fearless and has a strong conviction for who she is and what she deserves." She will reportedly not like the fact that she will be trapped in a human body once she begins her existence on Earth.
With the introduction of this new character, Season 2 is expected to feature Lucifer experiencing some mama troubles. He will seek to find out if his mother just wants to spend time with him again, or if she is not at all that innocent.
