iPhone 7 release date, specs rumors: Apple and Samsung could be working together on new screen

Could rivals Apple and Samsung actually be working together on the iPhone 7?

That appears to be the case, according to some rumors that have been floating around online.

According to ValueWalk, Samsung is reportedly providing screens for the Apple Watch, and the most interesting part of this supposed partnership is that the company may soon be expanding their work with Apple.

This translates to the distinct possibility that Samsung could actually provide screens for the upcoming iPhone 7.

Apple has reportedly been considering a shift to OLED screens for their smartphones for some time now, and Samsung has been known to provide quality versions of these items.

Samsung has supposedly already begun to send Apple samples of their OLED screens that will be taken into consideration for the iPhone 7.

Unfortunately, people will likely not know for sure that the iPhone 7 will be featuring an OLED screen for a while since the rumored smartphone is not expected to be released until September of next year.

The good news is that even with the iPhone 7 yet to be officially announced, there are enough rumors about its specs and features that are substantial enough to give people a general idea of what to expect from it.

For instance, the iPhone 7 will reportedly feature an improved A10 processor along with an M10 motion co-processor, according to PC Advisor UK. The iPhone 7 is also expected to feature 2 GB of RAM upon its release.

There are also radical changes reportedly in the works for the iPhone 7.

One of the major changes supposedly involves the removal of the home button, allowing Apple to feature an even larger display. The rumored removal of the home button could also lead to the Touch ID feature being integrated into another part of the phone, or perhaps even the display itself.

For now, rumors are the only bits of information people have to work with regarding the iPhone 7, although more news should come out sooner rather than later.
