The sequel to last year's animated film "How to Train Your Dragon" was received well by both critics and fans. By the end of this movie, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III and his loyal dragon, Toothless, are already in powerful leadership positions.

Now, followers of the "How to Train Your Dragon" series, based on Cressida Cowell's children's fantasy novel of the same name, are very excited to know what will happen to Hiccup and Toothless. The good news is that Dreamworks Pictures has already set a release date for "How to Train Your Dragon 3."

According to ScreenRant.com, the third "How To Train Your Dragon" movie will be in cinemas on June 29, 2018.

The question that fans certainly want answered is: What will "How To Train Your Dragon 3" be about, considering that the second film seemed to have already had a good closure?

Writer and director Dean DeBlois, who will reprise Hiccup and Toothless in the upcoming third animated movie, recently gave some hints.

In an interview with Collider, DeBlois indicated that "How to Train Your Dragon 3" may take a route similar to "Toy Story 3." This means that the next "How To Train Your Dragon" movie will be a tearjerking goodbye to childhood and the friends that go with it.

DeBlois said the third film will be the "culmination" of Hiccup's coming-of-age story.

"Both he and Toothless are now chiefs of their respective tribes, and it's a dueling story where you have both characters trying to do what's right for their kind, and an eventual outcome where Hiccup is able to stand on his own," DeBlois said, as quoted by ScreenRant.com.

"We're gonna take the story to where the books begin, which is Hiccup as an adult reflecting back on a time where there were dragons, suggesting that the dragons will in some way go away. Why and could they come back and the mystery of what all that is will be saved for the actual story," he added.

The "How To Train Your Dragon" director and writer further revealed that the baddie in the next movie will still be Drago Bludvist, but this time, he will become "a lot more complex" as a character.
