'Grand Theft Auto 6' rumors: Will the game be released for PlayStation 5?

"Grand Theft Auto 6" is likely still a few years away from being a reality, and according to the latest rumors, one possible reason for such is the console that will host it has not arrived.

According to the latest rumors surrounding "Grand Theft Auto 6," the game is still largely non-existent partly because it is being prepared to be a PlayStation 5 (PS5) title.

"Grand Theft Auto 6" would also reportedly be made available for the Xbox Two, basically making it a next-generation title, Neurogadget reported.

Rumors suggesting that the game will be coming out for the PS5 and the Xbox Two obviously pose a bit of an issue, stemming mainly from the fact that both Sony and Microsoft have yet to even announce the existence of either next-generation console.

If Rockstar truly has plans to release "Grand Theft Auto 6" for the next-gen consoles, then that could mean that an actual release date may still be way off into the horizon, possibly stretching as far as into 2020.

The long wait could end up being a good thing both for the game and its fans, especially if it means that it will be available on next-generation consoles.

Improved console specs would presumably allow "Grand Theft Auto 6" to feature more defined environments, including locations that may feature natural disasters such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

Some rumors also suggest that the upcoming game could feature both a male and female protagonist when it is eventually launched. On top of that, the rumors also suggest that Ryan Gosling could lend his voice to the male protagonist, while Eva Mendes could do the same thing for the game's female lead, N4BB reported.

As of now, however, rumors are all that fans have to go by when it comes to "Grand Theft Auto 6," and it may be quite a while before Rockstar makes anything official.
