On Sunday, Morris was rushed to the hospital for an emergency surgery from an infection from a previous operation. But the church announced on its Facebook page that as of Wednesday, his blood pressure has stabilized following the procedure.

At least 290,000 people participated in a live prayer for the pastor on Monday night. The church also made several calls for prayers on its social media pages.

"This morning Pastor Robert had a great night sleep," Senior Pastor Todd Lane said in a statement, CBN News reported. "He's still battling a little bit of pain but by all accounts of what we've done last night, I really believe that there was a breakthrough in the spirit realm."

Morris underwent a routine double hernia procedure on Monday, April 2. A week later, however, the pastor suffered some complications and had pain and blood loss. Doctors determined he had internal bleeding.

Before the emergency surgery, doctors did an angiogram and a CT scan to check for other signs of bleeding but found no other traces. After the surgery, the pastor is still experiencing some pain so the church is asking that prayers continue for his full recovery.

Meanwhile, Morris' wife, Debbie, thanked the people who prayed for her husband via Instagram. She took a photo of church members gathered outside of the hospital to await news of the pastor's health and she also provided updates from inside the hospital.

The pastor founded the Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas in 2000. Since then, the church has expanded to five campuses. At least 52,000 people celebrated the church's 15th anniversary in 2015.

Morris hosts the radio program "Worship & the Word with Pastor Robert" that airs across America. He has also written a number of Christian books.
