Rumors that the upcoming Galaxy S7 smartphone from Samsung would yet again feature the microSD card slot has largely been met by support.

According to Ewan Spence of Forbes, the reaction to the return of the microSD slot has largely been positive mainly because a lot of users are looking for it.

As Spence pointed out, a lot of smartphone users seek out microSD support mainly because it is a necessity for them. He pointed out that not all smartphone users have easy access to other devices that can also store valuable files, and that's the reason why so many folks are looking for additional internal storage space.

It's worth noting that Samsung has yet to confirm the presence of microSD support in the Galaxy S7, though most rumors suggest that the feature will indeed be integrated.

The inclusion and utilization of the microSD slot will reportedly provide Galaxy S7 users with as much as 200 GB of internal storage space. The Galaxy S7 is also expected to have base internal storage options of both 32 GB and 64 GB, Alphr reported.

It's also believed that the Galaxy S7 will have as much as 4 GB of RAM available upon launch.

Samsung's new flagship units will also reportedly be shipping with different kinds of chipsets on board. One group of Galaxy S7 smartphones wil reportedly feature the company's own line of Exynos chips, while the other group is rumored to be equipped with Qualcomm's brand of Snapdragon products. The chipsets will vary depending upon the regions that the Galaxy S7 units are headed to.

No official release date for the Galaxy S7 is currently known, though a recent product map unveiled by China Mobile indicated that the new phone could be launched in March.

There's also a chance that the Galaxy S7 could be announced as early as February and then be made widely available in March.
