Samsung Galaxy S7 release date set for March 11?

Samsung is reportedly planning to release the Galaxy S7 on March 11, at least according to one prominent tipster.

The new leak comes courtesy of Evan Blass, also known as @evleaks on Twitter, and according to him, the Galaxy S7's release date in the United States will be on that aforementioned day in March.

Unfortunately, Blass did not reveal any other information regarding the Galaxy S7, and he also failed to divulge who his sources were for the supposed release date.

Still, Blass has developed a reputation within the tech world as an accurate tipster, according to Forbes, so even if he may not tip his hand as it relates to his sources, there's still likely to be some semblance of insider information backing up that prediction.

While the Galaxy S7 may not hit the markets until March, its official debut is still expected to take place earlier.

Rumors surrounding the Galaxy S7 have long suggested that Samsung will give people their first look at the new smartphone a few weeks prior to the Mobile World Congress, which will take place in Barcelona, Spain.

Since the Mobile World Congress will run from Feb. 22 to 25, the following weeks should give Samsung enough time to properly deliver the phones to retailers after its initial debut.

The upcoming Galaxy S7 smartphone is also expected to introduce a variety of features upon its debut, including one that will be making a comeback.

According to a source spoken to by Venture Beat, the Galaxy S7 will bring back microSD slots that will provide support for cards that contain up to 200 GB of internal storage.

The Galaxy S7 is also expected to feature new batteries that should last longer, although they may also take quite a while to fully charge.

The upcoming Samsung smartphone is also expected to feature enhanced water resistance to help make it more durable.

More details about the Galaxy S7 and its other features should be made available soon.
