The popular role-playing video game "Final Fantasy VII" has been available for almost decades now, so it is very understandable why fans are already clamoring for the release of its remake.

Although the game's developer, Square Enix, has not yet announced a final release date yet, the Japanese director of the "Final Fantasy VII" remake, Tetsuya Nomura, recently teased about a big announcement that will come out soon.

According to Yibada.com, Nomura recently granted an interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, where he said that the team developing the game is gearing up for the release of massive information on the "Final Fantasy VII" remake soon.

A separate report from The University Herald said that the "Final Fantasy VII" remake will likely be released next year, in time for the 20th year celebration of the video game.

The report noted that details on the video game were noticeably absent during the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016, which took place last June 14 to 16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

It also stated that game developers may have thought that the big conference was not the right venue to reveal further details on the "Final Fantasy VII" remake, choosing instead to focus on the "Kingdom Hearts" HD 2.8 Final Chapter prologue.

So far, it has been revealed that the "Final Fantasy VII" remake will be comprised of multiple, full-sized games instead of a series of smaller episodes. It was game producer Yoshinori Kitase who gave away this information a few months ago.

"It will essentially be a full scale game for each part of the multi-part series. In XIII, each instalment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense," Kitase was quoted by Gamespot as saying.

"Whereas with Final Fantasy VII Remake, we already have a preexisting story, so it wouldn't really make sense if that isn't encompassed in a multi-part series... So if we're just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one Final Fantasy XIII game," he added.
