'Fallout 4' rumors: What could Bethesda feature as the game's DLC?

"Fallout 4" Bethesda Softworks

With "Fallout 4" now more than a month old, most hardcore players have now gotten through the game and are now eagerly anticipating what kind of downloadable content (DLC) will be coming soon.

Unfortunately, Bethesda has yet to say exactly what kind of DLC they will be featuring inside "Fallout 4," other than to indicate that they will be providing $40 worth of content for via the game's $30 season pass, GameSpot reported.

With Bethesda yet to announce anything, "Fallout 4" players have been left to speculate about what kind of content will indeed be coming to the game, and some fans have already put forth very intriguing guesses.

One of the most persistent rumors regarding "Fallout 4's" DLC suggests that the game will soon be welcoming underwater content.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, numerous "Fallout 4" players are already convinced that underwater content will be coming to the game sooner rather than later, to the point that it would be a genuine surprise if Bethesda didn't end up providing it.

Some players have already charted the vast waters of the Wasteland and have even stumbled upon some structures that they believe could soon become a bigger part of the game as DLC.

Aside from underwater content, there's also a chance that "Fallout 4" could feature DLC based on the works of noted author H.P. Lovecraft, according to What Culture.

In "Fallout 4," players can find a location known as the Dunwich Borers and then proceed to enjoy one of the most frightening experiences the game has to offer. While inside the Dunwich Borers, players will have hallucinations and even feel the walls shaking as they make their way deeper into the mysterious location.

The Dunwich Borers is just the latest example of Bethesda paying homage to Lovecraft, as previous games in the "Fallout" franchise also include content based in part on the author's literary contributions.

Adding yet another spine-tingling locale or quest based on the work of Lovecraft could elevate "Fallout 4" even further.

No release date for "Fallout 4's" DLC is currently known.
