"Destiny" is raking in the gold by selling their silver.

According to Game Informer, the recently unveiled microtransactions for the game are now already among the most popular add-ons on the PlayStation Store.

According to recent rankings, "Destiny's" 1,000 silver bundle that comes with 100 bonus silver and is on sale for $10 is currently second among the top five add-ons. Following it at third is the 2,000 bundle that comes with 300 bonus silver and is available for $20.

Finishing fifth in terms of add-on rankings at the PlayStation Store is yet another "Destiny" microtransaction. The game's 500 silver bundle that is on sale for $5 is the third microtransaction for "Destiny" to break into the top five.

For those wondering which add-on actually finished in first, as the rankings themselves may have indicated, it is none other than "The Taken King" expansion for "Destiny."

In fact, the only add-on to finish in the top five that is not related to "Destiny" is the season pass for "Minecraft: Story Mode."

What's clear is that the silver inside "Destiny" has proven to be popular, even though it is primarily used in the game to purchase emotes and a variety of other items that have no real impact on how strong a player can be inside the game.

The good news does not stop there for "Destiny" and the companies behind it.

According to Gamespot, the number of registered users for the game has now climbed all the way up 25 million. That is an increase of five million users from the 20 million figure that was tallied back in May and up by nine million from the 16 million mark reported in February.

The game's publisher, Activision, also revealed some other interesting facts about "Destiny" and its players. According to Activision, "Destiny" is now the most viewed video game on Twitch, reinforcing the notion that the game's popularity has surged recently.
