"Dark Cloud 2, which is one of the most beloved role-playing game (RPG) titles for PlayStation 2 (PS2), will now be making its way to PlayStation 4 (PS4).

Word that the game would be making its way to Sony's current generation console was announced during a recent PlayStation Blogcast. It was confirmed later on when it was included in the list of games that would be made available via the PlayStation Store.

"Dark Cloud 2" may not have the same brand recognition as other famous offerings from RPG franchises such as "Final Fantasy" and even the "Persona" titles, but that does not mean that it was not popular during its heyday.

The game garnered rave reviews for its visuals and gameplay, according to The Inquisitr, and before long, it became one of the more fondly remembered RPG titles that to PS2.

For those who may be curious about what "Dark Cloud 2" may be like, it is essentially a third person action RPG but with enough unique features to differentiate it from other titles.

Players will mostly control two characters, with those being Max and Monica.

One of its most noteworthy features is the fact that the characters the players will use are not the ones that level up. Instead, it's the weapons inside "Dark Cloud 2" that can get progressively stronger and they can even be upgraded.

"Dark Cloud 2" will also call on players to help rebuild some of the towns that have been destroyed, and that gameplay aspect is crucial to advancing in the game.

It's unclear if there will be significant changes made to the PS4 port of "Dark Cloud 2," although Techno Buffalo suggests that it could be in high definition (HD) when it is played on the new console.

The PS4 port of "Dark Cloud 2" could also be released with its own set of trophies that players can unlock by completing accomplishments inside the game.
