8-year-old girl on a mission to hug cops in every state says this is God's will

Rosalyn Baldwin, an 8-year-old girl from Louisiana, has literally been spreading love and good will around America, as she's on a mission to hug cops in every U.S. state.

The little girl's hug campaign started in 2016. Her mother, Angie Baldwin, told WKRC-TV that it started when the 8-year-old learned that five police officers were gunned down during a shootout in Dallas.

"She said, Mama, they are killing our heroes," Angie shared. "They don't understand, and then when it happened in Baton Rouge it was very personal to her."

The Baldwins then established the website RosalynLoves, where the family documents Rosalyn's travels and hug campaign. Since she began her mission of love, the 8-year-old has visited and shared hugs in 27 states and she's not about to stop. In recent weeks, Rosalyn was actually in Cincinnati, Ferguson and Houston

When asked why she decided to make this her mission in life, Rosalyn poignantly told the press. "I didn't decide, God decided."

Besides hugging her heroes, Rosalyn also engages the cops she meets in a short prayer.

Police officers naturally welcome the 8-year-old girl with open arms. One cop from Houston said that Rosalyn's hugs help recharge them. Cincinnati chief Eliot Isaac also shared that the young girl's gesture "warms the heart," especially when they have cops grieving the loss of their partners and backups due to their line of work.

The social media community also acknowledged Rosalyn for her selfless mission, as photos and videos of the child hugging the cops have constantly been shared on Twitter and Facebook.

Meanwhile, the family has also created a GoFundMe page since January 2017 to help fund for Rosalyn's travels across America. So far, over $10,000 in donations poured in and some donors have left messages anticipating the 8-year-old's visit to their state.
