Before Xiaomi's mid-ranged smartphone was given the model name Mi 4i, the smartphone appeared on GFXbench possessing the codename 'Ferrari'. The device possessed mid-ranged hardware specifications and while the pricing details have not been detailed by the Chinese tech company, it is expected that it will be unveiled on April 23, 2015, at the Global smartphone event.

As for the hardware specifications, Xiaomi Mi 4i features a Snapdragon 615 SoC with a hexa-core processor along with 2 GB of RAM. The processor will no doubt be ARM's Cortex-A53, running at a clock speed of 1.6 GHz. Mi 4i will also be sporting a 4.9 inch screen rendering a 1080p resolution. According to the image details captured from GFXbench's website, Xiaomi's mid-ranged offering will be providing users with 16 GB of on-board storage. Unfortunately, the image was not able to provide details on whether or not the smartphone possesses a microSD slot.

For image capturing purposes, a 13 MP/5 MP camera sensor combo have been provided at the rear and front side of the smartphone respectively. For added flexibility, Xiaomi's Mi 4i can also house two SIMs under its chassis. As for the operating system, Mi 4i will be running the Lollipop 5.0.2 update coupled with Xiaomi's custom MIUI 6 skin on top.

As stated earlier, pricing details of the smartphone are currently unavailable. However, since the device possesses mid-ranged hardware specifications and because Xiaomi has the propensity of pricing its products aggressively, it is expected that Mi 4i's price tag will not exceed the $200 mark. Furthermore, the handset might only be limited to the Indian smartphone market because the event is going to take place in New Dehli.

Regardless, additional details of the smartphone will be made available once the event is concluded. Thanks to its aggressively priced smartphones, Xiaomi might effectively be able to take control of India, which houses one of the largest populations on the planet.
