With Windows 10 right around the corner, e-commerce firm Newegg, which is situated in the United States managed to leak out the price tags of both the Home and Professional versions of Microsoft's upcoming operating system for both desktops and mobile computing machines. According to PCWorld, it is unconfirmed if there is going to be an Ultimate version of Windows 10 like Windows 7 or Windows Vista. According to the details present on Newegg, the pricing details are as follows:

  • Windows 10 Home version: $109.99
  • Windows 10 Professional version: $149.99

The prices of both versions are $10 higher compared to its predecessors, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7. However, both of these operating system users will be pleased to know that if they are running legitimate copies of either Windows 7 or 8, they will be able to use Windows 10 absolutely free for a period of 12 months. Additionally, these users will also be receiving timely updates from Microsoft, which is expected to improve the overall experience of the 'unified interface' platform.

On Newegg's website, it is stated that the release date of Windows 10 is Aug. 31, 2015. Though it has been confirmed by TechCrunch that Windows 10 will finish during the month of June, it is possible that the aforementioned release date is the time when Newegg will commence the selling of Home and Professional copies. In 2016, consumers and enterprises who have purchased actual copies of Windows 10 will also be receiving additional updates from Microsoft, which has been codenamed Redstone.

Redstone will be arriving in two parts, with the first one landing in June 2016, while the other is expected to arrive during October 2016. While the release date of the operating system will be arriving sooner than expected, smartphones and tablet users of Windows 10 have to gather more patience since the operating system will be released later for this particular devices.
