'The Legend of Zelda' Wii U release date: Could Linkle be part of game?

Could Linkle be included in the upcoming "Legend of Zelda" game for the Wii U?

This is the question on the minds of many fans, especially after a recent interview "The Legend of Zelda" series producer Eiji Aonuma had with IGN.

In the interview, Aonuma touched on numerous topics involving Linkle, including how positively fans have reacted thus far. Aonuma was eventually asked if there was a possibility that Linkle could appear in future "Legend of Zelda" titles.

Aonuma responded by indicating that Linkle certainly seems like she belongs to "The Legend of Zelda" universe, and as for her involvement in future titles, the producer said that they will "keep her in mind" as it relates to games that have yet to be made.

Aonuma's comments are far from solid confirmation that Linkle will be included in future "Legend of Zelda" games, let alone actually star in one, but they do hint at the increasing popularity of the new character.

With next year's Nintendo lineup set to include the long-awaited "Legend of Zelda" game for the Wii U, some have wondered if Linkle could end up making an appearance there as well.

Game Rant points out that while Linkle could indeed be featured as a character in the upcoming game, it is unlikely that she becomes a core component of it.

Linkle or not, next year's "Legend of Zelda" game for the Wii U still promises to be one of the most eagerly anticipated debuts of 2016.

There's still a lot unknown about the actual game, but one thing fans can count on is that it will be featuring a vast, open world, according to Trusted Reviews.

Nintendo has thus far chosen to reveal very little about their upcoming game, but with 2015 drawing to a close, more information figures to come out regarding "The Legend of Zelda" for the Wii U.
