Microsoft has a wide selection of gadgets to choose from, and for those looking for a laptop/tablet they could use, the company also has some devices they can look into.
This time, it will be the Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4, and Surface Book that will all be put under the microscope to see just exactly what the respective devices have to offer.
Starting off with processors, the top of the line Surface Pro 3 features Intel's i7 offering, while the Surface Pro 4 will also be offering an i7 variant, according to PC Advisor UK. The Surface Book will also offer some variety, although again, its most advanced version will also be equipped with the i7 processor from Intel.
Moving on to the memory specifications of the different devices, the Surface Pro 3 can offer as much as 8 GB of RAM along with 512 GB of internal storage, although users can expand this by using a microSD card, according to Engadget. The Surface Pro 4 again has numerous variants, although the high-end version features 16 GB of RAM combined with a spacious 1 TB of internal storage. The high-end Surface Book can similarly provide 16 GB of RAM together with 1 TB of internal storage.
When it comes to the display sizes of the devices, the Surface Pro 3 comes in at 12 inches, while the Surface Pro 4 is just a bit bigger at 12.3 inches. The Surface Book is larger than both, with a display size of 13.5 inches, according to Microsoft.
As for the other features of the devices, the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book have definitive advantages over the Surface Pro 3, thanks to the support they provide for the Surface Pen.
The Surface Pro 3 also appears to be lacking in terms of some of its software offerings as it is bundled together with the Windows 8 operating system, while the other two devices feature the Windows 10.
It's clear that the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book are the more capable offerings at this point, although those who may be looking for a cheaper alternative can still feel confident that the Surface Pro 3 can meet their needs reasonably well.
