Stephen Curry's mom scolds Christian NBA star for saying the F-word during game

The recent NBA match between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets got so intense that two-time MVP Stephen Curry, who is an outspoken Christian, could not help but say the F-word out loud. His mother, Sonya, however, saw him cursing on live television and made sure to let her son know that she was not happy with his language.

Curry told ESPN that despite leading his team to victory in that particular game, his mother scolded him for shouting, "This is my f---ing house!" during the third quarter of Game 3. Sonya had her son watch two video clips over and over to show up his mistake.

"She was telling me how I need to wash my mouth out, saying to wash it out with soap," Curry said. "It's a message I've heard before," he added.

His teammate Kevin Durant, however, told the press that he supported Curry for the unexpected burst as it pumped up the home team to win. Curry also admitted that it felt good to release the energy, especially in a game as intense as the playoffs.

After the talk with his mom, however, he acknowledged that there was a better approach. "She's right," Curry told ESPN. "I gotta do better. I can't talk like that."

One other person who knows Curry best said that the basketball star might have been "pretty fired up" in the game but Klay Thompson assured his young fans via USA Today that Curry's cursing is pretty rare. Thompson also reminded the kids who look up to Curry to never curse at home.

The Golden State Warriors had a rough first two games against the Houston Rockets in the playoffs. Game 3, however, saw the team bounce back as they collectively scored 126 shots against the other team's 85.
