Even though the Xperia Z5 line was released relatively recently, rumors online are already beginning to talk about what could be next for Sony in the smartphone department, more specifically, if the Z6 could be released soon.
Part of the reason for why people are already buzzing about the Xperia Z6 is that Sony has developed a habit of releasing flagships more frequently than other manufacturers.
According to PC Advisor UK, Sony has usually followed the pattern of releasing a new smartphone once every six months, and that could be the case again for the Z6.
If Sony does indeed decide to once again follow that pattern, then the Z6 would seemingly be on track to be revealed by February of next year. Interestingly enough, Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 will also be taking place in February, potentially giving Sony a solid platform they could use to launch the Xperia Z6 if they ultimately choose to do so.
There are also rumors suggesting that Sony might change things up this time around and wait a little longer to release the Z6. If Sony chooses to wait, then it is likely that they will release the Z6 just in time for next year's IFA event, which will be taking place in September.
As of now, Sony has been completely mum on the matter of the Xperia Z6, so there's still no way to tell just what the company has planned.
Even with the lack of official news from Sony, the rumored specs of the Xperia Z6 have still begun to leak online.
According to Venture Capital Post, the new phone will likely feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor along with either 3 or 4 GB of RAM.
The Xperia Z6 is also rumored to have a 5.2-inch ultra HD display. There will also reportedly be two different versions of the Xperia Z6, with one offering 16 GB of internal storage and the other one doubling that at 32 GB.
