iPad Air 2 vs Sony Xperia Z4 tablet specs; battle of the flagship tablets

 Sony’s product website

Sony's Xperia Z4 tablet and Apple iPad Air 2 happen to be two of the fastest and aesthetically appealing products on the market. Both devices also exude tremendous amount of speed, but in the end, Xperia Z4 tablet is able to take the crown thanks to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 SoC present inside it. While Apple A8X is a formidable chipset in its own league, especially when it comes to displaying sheer performance and energy efficiency against Snapdragon 805 and NVIDIA Tegra K1 Denver, it is unable to keep up with the performance of Snapdragon 810.

Moving on, Xperia Z4 tablet features a slightly larger form factor coupled with a higher resolution in comparison to iPad Air 2. Sony's flagship tablet features a 2560 by 1600 resolution that is being rendered on a 10.1 inch screen. Apple's high-end tablet has a 9.7 inch screen with a resolution measuring 2048 by 1536 pixels. The iPad Air 2 is able to take the lead is the overall battery department. The large screen slate features a 7,340 mAh battery compared to Xperia Z4 tablet's 6,000 mAh one. While both batteries are lithium polymer ones, iPad Air 2 will be able to deliver more battery life thanks to its fewer amount of pixels and larger battery capacity.

In terms of storage expansion flexibility, Xperia Z4 tablet will be the better purchase thanks to its MicroSD card slot that has an expansion limit of 128 GB (along with 32 GB of on-board storage). In contrast, iPad Air 2 is available to purchase in the 16, 64 and 128 GB capacity variants, with the most expensive model carrying a price tag of $829.99. Sony Xperia Z4 tablet's price tag has been listed on the company's website as £499.00, which is equivalent to $781.

In terms of performance and storage expansion flexibly, Sony's flagship tablet will serve the user nicely, even with its expensive price tag. If consumers are looking for extended battery life, then iPad Air 2 will serve their requirements perfectly.
