American singer and actress Selena Gomez is proud to be a Christian, and even her musical preferences are a testament to her growing faith and relationship with God.

When asked who her favorite Christian artists are, Gomez cannot help but gush about New Zealand artist and "Something in the Water" singer Brooke Fraser.

"I love Brooke Fraser. She's my favorite, and I have the pleasure of knowing her, and she is incredible. I love Hillsong as well. I love all of their worship. I'm a sucker for all of it," she told Breathe Cast. "And the new Young & Free is so good; I got to hear some of it before it came out."

Gomez has just released her new album called "Revival," which includes hit tracks such as "Same Old Love" and "Good For You." But aside from that, she is still dabbling in film since she just lent her voice to the animated film "Hotel Transylvania 2," where she plays a vampire named Mavis who just gave birth to a half-vampire half-mortal son named Dennis.

Some Christians might not like the film given its content, where humans coexist with monsters such as vampires, werewolves, mummies, and more. But Gomez said she has no issues with the film.

"Now for me I respect people (and) whatever boundaries they set for themselves. So I'm more lenient towards that. I am Christian, so I understand," she said. "For me it's just ultimately about what it is."

What she hopes that people would focus on instead is the fact that the movie teaches the importance of love, family, and friendship. "It's a beautiful movie, it's got a great message," she said. "There's not much to really dissect but it's about family, that's what it really is. Whatever it is or however we're telling it, that's the truth."
