'Resident Evil 2' remake update news: 'Resident Evil 7' may include demo

Resident Evil 2 Capcom

Since Capcom producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi announced in August last year that a remake of "Resident Evil 2" is under development, fans have been eagerly waiting when it will be released. There is still much uncertainty as to when the full version of the popular survival horror video game will be available, but fans may have something to tide themselves over while waiting.

According to a report by GearNuke.com, a demo version of the "Resident Evil 2" remake may have been included by Capcom in "Resident Evil 7," which was unveiled at Sony's E3 2016 press conference.

In the same event, Capcom announced that it has released a playable "Resident Evil 7" demo which gives players a taste of what to expect in the final game.

The short "Resident Evil 7" demo reportedly seems to have some hidden messages, which includes another demo, this time for the "Resident Evil 2" remake.

Some players reported that they saw some random numbers and word on the screen and one of the numbers is referencing the PS1 release of Resident Evil 1 Director's Cut, which was also shipped with the Resident Evil 2 demo.

The timeline of events seem to support this fact. Capcom has been developing the "Resident Evil 2" remake for more than a year now, making it already ripe for a demo version.

NSEAVoice.com earlier reported that it will be the "Resident Evil 2" remake which will be revealed in this year's Sony E3 press conference. This was supposedly "to fulfill the horror wishes of the fans while also buying some time for Capcom to polish on Resident Evil 7's final product."

As it turned out, however, Capcom decided to release "Resident Evil 7" first, leaving the exact release date of "Resident Evil 2" remake still unclear.

Capcom UK's senior marketing director, Stuart Turner, already earlier gave an assurance that the upcoming remake of "Resident Evil 2" is a "full from the ground up remake, NOT a remaster," according to Gamespot.com.
