'Pokémon Z' release date: Could the long-awaited game finally arrive in 2016?

Legendary Pokemon Zygarde, the rumored star of Pokemon Z Nintendo

"Pokémon Z" has been a frequent topic of rumors this year, but now, it finally appears that a breakthrough is coming.

According to iDigital Times, the most recent issue of CoroCoro magazine hinted that there would be big news regarding the Pokémon world that will be published in the December edition of the publication.

Unfortunately, the publication stopped short of actually hinting in any way at what that news would actually be.

Usually, the December issue of the CoroCoro magazine is devoted to publishing news regarding the upcoming Pokémon movies, although some fans believe that it will be different this time around.

More specifically, they believe that the December issue of the magazine will actually reveal more about the long-awaited "Pokémon Z" title.

All details for now remain unofficial, although with the final month of the year just around the corner, fans will know for sure very shortly.

One possible reason to believe that "Pokémon Z" news is coming in December is Nintendo, in particular, has been very active on that front very recently.

Earlier this month, Nintendo revealed its plans to bring the original Pokémon video games to the Nintendo 3DS and various other tidbits concerning the Pokémon empire. Hence, providing even more news before the year comes to a close would not seem to be that unusual at all.

Another interesting rumor concerning "Pokémon Z" is that it may end up being released alongside "Pokémon Go," according to the Latinos Post.

Rumors suggest that both titles may even end up being launched early on in 2016.

Both Pokémon games will also reportedly be released before Feb. 27 of next year, which would be just in time to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the wildly successful franchise.
