PlayStation 4 (PS4) owners can look forward to something fun this weekend.

Thanks to a new promotion available courtesy of Sony, PS4 owners will have access to free online multiplayer during this weekend.

According to NDTV, the promotion has already started and it is expected to wrap up on Dec. 13 PST.

The promotion is open to all owners of the PS4.

Participating in the free weekend is pretty easy as well. The first thing players need to do is to simply log on to the PlayStation Network any time between now and when the promotion is set to end. After that, PS4 owners can simply start their chosen game that also comes with an online multiplayer component. Once the game has been started, players head on over to its multiplayer feature and then proceed to join in on the fun with the rest of the PS4 owners.

In addition, PS4 owners who are interested in participating in the weekend promotion are not required to make any kind of membership commitment.

The free online multiplayer promotion is not the only thing that PS4 owners can get excited about.

A recent post on the official PlayStation Blog has also detailed some of the games that are on sale this holiday season.

Numerous games are discounted across three different platforms, with those being the PS3, PS4, and also the PlayStation Vita.

According to the post, the games currently listed are on sale only up until Monday.

Some of the games on sale include "Evolve" and "Grand Theft Auto V" for the PlayStation 4; "Resogun" for the PlayStation 3; and "Persona 4: Dancing All Night" for the PlayStation Vita, just to name a few.

Once the sale period for the current batch of games ends, they will be replaced by a new collection starting Tuesday.
