Pastor claims blurry image in a security camera is an angel as photo goes viral

Did a home security camera capture an image of an angel? Michigan local Glen Thorman believes it did but he needed more confirmation and emailed some photos to his pastor at the Jordan Rivers Church.

Pastor Deneille Moes received two images from Thorman. The first showed a large but blurry image of something hovering at Thorman's pickup truck, while the second photo showed it moving away.

Moes admitted he freaked out over the images but said, "There wasn't any doubt in my mind that we were looking at something supernatural," and he texted Thorman to tell him, "That's an angel."

The pastor then shared the images on the church's Facebook page and stated that the photos were never altered. The post earned nearly 500 shares and hundreds more reactions and comments at the time of going to press.

"I guess there is no question who is watching over their residence while they sleep," Moes wrote in the caption "Yes, they pray that The Angels of the Lord will surround them and their property."

A photography expert, however, could not confirm if the security camera actually captured an angel's image. Joe Clark of Glass Lakes Photography told UpNorthLive that it could possibly be just an image of a moth or other type of insect.

Clark suggested that it was easy to make out the moth's head and wings from the photograph. Since it appeared a bit blurry, however, then he saw why it could be interpreted differently.

A comment on the Facebook post, however, challenged Clark's statements based on the time indicated in the post, which was at 12:49 a.m. The commenter stated that they checked the temperature of the area and compared it to the time stamp.

The commenter insisted that the ground was still cold in that early morning and so it would be unlikely that moths or mosquitoes would be be hovering at that time. They arrived at the same conclusion as the pastor and Thorman that the image captured in the security camera was an angel.
