'Outlander' season 2 spoilers: Claire and Jaime's daughter to be featured

Jaime and Claire in "Outlander" Starz

The second season of "Outlander" will include appearances from Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jaime's (Sam Heughan) daughter.

Their daughter goes by the name of Brianna in the series of books based on the show and she figures to retain the name when she makes her television debut.

That Brianna will be appearing in season two of "Outlander" is not exactly a secret anymore at this point, as fans of the show have heard and read about the rumors regarding the subject for months.

Still, rumors that Brianna would become part of the show only became widely accepted after a report from TV Line indicating that the show has put out a casting call for the role.

Brianna is described as an American in her twenties with great intelligence and an impeccable sense of humor. As for some of her other physical characteristics, the show is reportedly on the lookout for an actress over five feet eight inches tall, although they are supposedly not looking with red hair as a prerequisite as dye can simply be used.

As of now, the show has yet to name anyone for the role. Footage of aspiring actresses looking to land the role have leaked online, though again, a favorite has yet to be identified.

According to Movie News Guide, Maeve Foley has been mentioned as a potential fit for the role of Brianna, but this appears to be more rumor than fact at the moment.

For their part, Starz, the network "Outlander" calls home, has cautioned fans not to listen to any of the supposed news that suggest there has been someone chosen to play Brianna. The network tells fans to listen only to their official announcements released via their social media accounts to find out who exactly will be taking on the role of Brianna.

"Outlander" is not expected to return to Starz until 2016.
