One Plus 3 release date: New phone coming this Christmas?

One Plus already made headlines earlier this year after successfully releasing their One Plus 2 phone, but it appears the company is not done just yet.

In an August interview with USA Today, One Plus co-founder Carl Pei said that there will be a second phone coming out from the company before the end of 2015. Pei said that it would hopefully be ready to come out by Christmas.

As for what phone Pei is talking about, it could very well be the One Plus 3.

Upon being released, the One Plus 2 immediately garnered rave reviews for putting together good features and looks all into one affordable package and that's most likely a big part of the reason why so many people are getting excited about the company potentially releasing an upgraded version of that device.

There's not a lot known thus far of the One Plus 3 phone, although there have been some recent leaks supposedly showing off what it looks like. The images, found on Mobile-dad and subsequently reported by Yahoo! Tech, depict a phone that is smaller than the One Plus 2, although there are also other changes that have seemingly been made to it.

The new phone comes with rounded edges this time around, and it also looks as though its back panel can no longer be removed, unlike with the One Plus 2. It also looks as though the phone is encased in plastic.

If the images turn out to be real, it also seems as though the One Plus 3 will have a dual-camera setup at the back. People will also be to see that there is indeed a fingerprint scanner also located on the back part of the One Plus 3.

One Plus has stayed very quiet when it comes to the rumored phone which they have lined up for the end of the year, although more news should be coming out soon.
