Oculus Rift news: Learn about some of the games coming to the headset

The Oculus Rift is coming soon, and it's about time to learn about what some of the games that players can look to try it out when the headset is eventually released.

First off is a game that many of the new Oculus Rift owners will likely be trying out first, "Eve: Valkyrie."

"Eve: Valkyrie" will be shipped to players who will also be pre-ordering the Oculus Rift, so that's one of the reasons why it could be among the first games that fans try out, but beyond that, it also offers an intriguing enough concept of gameplay to warrant at least a cursory go-around.

"Eve: Valkyrie" takes players to space and puts them in the center of epic dogfights between spaceships, the only question is whether or not the immense potential of that gameplay concept will translate to the Oculus Rift platform, and folks will be able to find that out for themselves next year.

For a different take on how VR in space is, players can also try out "ADR1FT." As Now Gamer points out, "ADR1FT" takes a lot of what made the film "Gravity" so terrifying and turns that into a video game. Players will be tasked with surviving amidst the unforgiving void of space with their Oculus Rift headsets conveying all that terror to hopefully create a unique gaming experience.

Yet another potentially promising title coming to the Oculus Rift is "The Climb."

"The Climb" will be exclusively available to the Oculus Rift, GameSpot reported, and it promises to bring a thrilling outdoor activity to within the confines of four walls.

In the game, players will be tasked with climbing cliffs without any kind of gear to protect them should they stumble. Players who will be trying out "The Climb" will get to scale different cliffs from all over the world while playing the game.

Fans can look forward to playing all these games and more on the Oculus Rift when the headset is launched in the first quarter of 2016.
