Folks who are eager to get their hands on the Nexus 5X now have an official release date to mark down on their calendars.

According to Tech Radar, Google's Nexus 5X phones should be ready to start being shipped out of their warehouses starting Oct. 22, if not a bit earlier than that.

The new date was announced not long after Google simply said the Nexus 5X would be "shipping in the coming weeks," so the update does provide more clarity regarding this matter.

The Oct. 22 shipping date is also applicable to both the 16 GB and 32 GB versions of the Nexus 5X.

Other specs of the Nexus 5X have also been revealed.

Google's newest phone will come equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor. That is then paired up with 2 GB of RAM.

The Nexus 5X also features a 5.2-inch full HD screen that is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 to add some needed durability.

The phone will feature a 12.3-megapixel rear camera along with one up front at five megapixels.

Google's Nexus 5X also has an array of different sensors for users to enjoy. The list of sensors include one for fingerprints, an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyroscope, hall sensor, and proximity sensor. It will also have an Android Context and Sensor hub, according to PC Advisor UK.

Of course, as much as people may be looking forward to the upgraded features of the Nexus 5X, they are also undoubtedly eager to try out the new Android Marshmallow operating system (OS) showcased in the new phone.

New features such as Now on Tap and Doze are just two of the new offerings people want to try out in the Marshmallow OS, and the Nexus 5X will let them try those out earlier than with most other devices that may not get the update until next year.
