It was quite noticeable how the Cleveland Cavaliers barely utilized its star forward, Kevin Love, when the team captured the NBA Championship last year. This fueled some ongoing rumors that Love is up for trade next season, particularly to the Philadelphia 76ers.

According to The Morning Ledger, the struggling 76ers is scouting for players to help in its offensive front, with its difficulty in scoring very evident last season. This is where Love could prove as an asset to the Philadelphia team.

The 28-year-old professional basketball player has proven time and again that he is a scoring machine. The former All Star has shown stellar shooting skills, and is known to be an effective low-post scorer.

In fact, although he had a low-key role in the Cavaliers last season, Love was still able to chalk up 16.9 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. During his career high from 2013 to 2014, the basketball player was able to produce an impressive 26 points per game, with 10 defensive rebounds and 3 offensive rebounds on the side.

Love can also work well with newly-drafted Ben Simmons if he is indeed recruited by the Philadelphia 76ers. Simmons have shown how effective he is in passing the ball to the floor to facilitate scoring, as long as he will have a good player on the receiving end of his passes.

Love can definitely serve as the big man pairing with Simmons to buoy the 76ers in the scoring front, with the latter also contributing some shots from beyond the paint.

At present, Love's team, the Cavaliers, might also be looking for some strong defensive presence in the point, which is not necessarily the player's strong suit. During the 2016 NBA Finals, Love was constantly attacked by the Golden State Warriors' star point guard Stephen Curry, which may have been one of the reasons why he was kept on the bench for some time.
