Moto X 3rd generation: two handsets running Snapdragon 808 and Snapdragon 810 for Verizon; code named Moto Clark and Moto Kinzie

Motorola has yet to announce the successor of its Moto X second generation, which is running an outdated Snapdragon 801 SoC. Currently, the only carrier offering Motorola's handsets is Verizon and from the looks of it, it does not look like that partnership is going to change anytime soon. Now, according to Phone Arena, Motorola is in the process of announcing not one, but two smartphones. One of them is going to be running a Snapdragon 808, while the other is going to be running Snapdragon 810.

On a leaked topic at Reddit, AndroidLeaks has stated that the codename for both handsets is going to be Moto Clark and Moto Kinzie. Clark is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 808 while Kinzie is going to be incorporated with a Snapdragon 810 chipset. Both devices are going to render a QHD resolution (2560 by 1440), with a difference in screen sizes.

Moto Clark has a PPI, or pixel per inch value of 560, which equals the screen size to 5.2 inches diagonally. Moto Kinzie on the other hand, has a PPI value of 640, which means that the handset's screen size is going to be somewhere around 4.6 inches. The high PPI value will mean that battery life would become a huge issue for a large amount of users, unless Motorola incorporates large cells at the rear side of these devices. Both smartphones are also expected to be running Android Lollipop 5.1.1 and since they belong to the flagship category, they will most likely be void of a MicroSD card slot.

Unfortunately, that is all the information currently available about the smartphones. Since Motorola unveiled its Moto X second generation during the month of September, both Moto Clark and Moto Kinzie are expected to be announced around the same month.

Additional details revolving around the innovative features of both devices will be detailed once the month of September has arrived.
