Microsoft is hoping that 2016 will be a banner year for the Xbox One, and what better way to ensure that than by providing players with a variety of games they can look forward to.

A new video from Xbox UK and as reported on by Dual Shockers puts a spotlight on one of the console's biggest exclusives of 2016 in "Scalebound."

"Scalebound" is an action role-playing game (RPG) that allows players to partner up with their own dragon companion as they take on numerous opponents inside the game. "Scalebound" also features battles wherein the game's human and dragon protagonists take on opponents simultaneously.

More details about "Scalebound" should be made available in the coming months, and the game is currently slated for a late 2016 release.

Another Xbox One exclusive players can look forward to in 2016 is "Gears of War 4."

The next installment of the popular third person shooter will feature two new Gears known as JD and Kait, Windows Central reported. "Gears of War 4" is also expected to be a welcome return to the franchise's original gameplay, and it remains to be seen if fans will react well to the approach of the upcoming game.

"Gears of War 4" also remains without an exact release date, although it is expected to launch during the 2016 holiday season.

Next up, players can also look forward to another action title in "Quantum Break."

In "Quantum Break," players take on the role of a character named Jack Joyce. What makes Joyce unique is his ability to control time, and as players might imagine, that will factor heavily into the storyline and gameplay mechanics of "Quantum Break."

Unlike the other two aforementioned Xbox One games, "Quantum Break" is expected to make its debut earlier in the year. Players looking forward to "Quantum Break" can get the new game for the Xbox One when it is released on April 5.
